Comment:

This one goes out to my favorite entomologist, known to most of us AOTM regulars as buglady. I wasn't motivated enough to create an entire bug-themed mix, but I did capture a few specimens for inclusion, like the wonderful "She's A Pest" (performed by the Insects no less!) and the sounds of some uncredited cicadas and crickets that open and close the mix. Thanks go out to the usual suspects Stephen Royce and Matt Hinrichs for supplying some tuneage. Want a chance to win a copy? Be the first to answer this: what artist is responsible for the drawing of the two surviving beetles on the cover? Clue: He died in 1972.

This looks like a lot of fun and a nice, er, tribute! Particularly like the 8-14 stretch, and 18 & 21. A few new artists for me that I would love to hear so, I will guess M.C. Escher.

I was amazed when I first heard the Magic Whispers covering a Ruth's Refrigerator song,a band who are masterminded by that mad musical genius Alan Jenkins. There's a lot here I haven't heard and that bugs me.

Wow! thanks Ion! I'm both honored and excited to hear this mix! Was the artist responsible M.E. Marcuson, perhaps?

Congratulations James Jackson! I wasn't sure anyone would be able to answer the quiz, but you got it right off the bat. I'll save a copy for you.

As a gal who just recently moved to the south from Detroit, I have to say that I am still trying to come to terms with how BIG they grow their bugs down here -- from hornets to earthworms, I'm about ready for therapy -- maybe a mix like this is the kind of therapy I need! ;)

Fantastic! Having lived on both sides of the Atlantic, I think I'll stick with the British ones. But anyway, love loads of this - Andy Partridge, The Nerves, and it's great to see the Vaselines,
