a new way of smiling
Comment:
You might have seen the mix Rob Conroy made for me yesterday. Well this is the return fire. It's a little bit funky. It's a little bit country. It's a little bit rock 'n' roll. I hope it appeals to his senses. I have to share a smile with Matt Hinrichs for supplying me with some of his Have A Nice Day/Super Hits of the 70s CDs. Also have to credit Popkulcher for turning me on to track 4, which comes from the new Willy Wonka flick. Still haven't seen the remake, but the first one tripped me out when I was a lad in the 70s -- especially that scary psychedelic tunnel the kids passed under. I still get nightmares from that. And don''t even get me started on the Oompa Loompas. Okay, I'm finished now.
Feedback:
Smilig? Yes, I know it's spelled wrong, but "server errors" on the site are preventing me from correcting it.
Hell, any mix featuring Sam Jones' beguiling "Today (Without You)" (one of the best singles of all time, if you ask me) can't be all bad. And if it also features the likes of Patsy, Sly, GOF, PWEI, JAMC etc., it'll certainly make me smil . . . er, smile.
Nice to see Patsy Cline and Sly Stone both here!
Looks like a fun mix!
Really, really cool! I love the Ballboy, SFA, Gang Of Four, J&MC, Small Faces and Beck - and, well, just all of it looks l=delicious.
From what I know(the J & MC, Small Faces, Go4, SFA, Pooh Sticks, Beck, Patsy, Left Banke, Sly Stone & Herbie Mann) this looks fantastic--thanks, good sir!
All I'm sayin', Ion baby...la la lovely.
Very cool.
But it's a NEW way of Smilig!! Excellent, Sir!
Love all that I know....
Love all that I know....
Lots of great picks.
Looks fantastic, Moe. Please bring this along when you come to dinner.
I love the Smurfs!
Five Man Electrical Band did something besides "Signs"? Live and learn.
Nice one Ion.
Be happy and keep smilig.

beautiful, man. lovely cover too!
very cool - rob will love it. that left banke tune is a real fave.
Great! The Veruca Salt song makes me smil.
oh I for the first time in my life ;) I wish I was Rob
Love the mix. Made me giggle. But P the Swede made me laugh.
somehow, I missed the boat on this one... we must orchestrate a trade at some point my good sir, because half of this I love, and the other half I don't know... which leads me to believe the whole damn thing must be super sweet!
i heart the jennifer gentle song (and the gang of four, sfa, left banke) although the smurfs always kind of scared me
very nice, Moe. I can't remember the last time I heard Patsy Cline, Stereolab and The Smurfs all within the same 65 minutes. great cover too. she looks like one of The Lennon Sisters.
Great, fun mix. Pendulum have remixed that scary-ass tunnel bit of the film into a scary-ass drum and bass track. 'We have no way of knowing... the danger must be growing,' etc etc...
