Comment:

1) Song with "sun" in title or reminds you of summer - Feelin' real great cause the weather's mild. 2) Song from place where English is not 1st language or a language you don't speak - The first song in French that I ever heard. Presidents of the USA did a great cover. 3) 7th song - Off their "At the Show" live album. 4) Cover you like better than original - Let's face it. The original version of this song sucked. Off the "Metalliska" compilation. 5) Beatlesque song - All three members of Semisonic are Beatles fans and you can hear a bit of that here. 6) Song title = question? 7) Favorite song from genre/style you usually don't like - "New" country generally sucks. This song captures what I like about classic country. Painting images with words. 8) Song from year you graduated high school - When I first really discovered punk/ska. 9) Song with handclaps - Beck is a pretty sharp dude. A Renaissance man. 10) Song with your name in title - The closest I could get. I saw them in 1992 with MC Lyte. 11) A b-side - First "Parental Advisory" album I ever bought. Very exhilarating for a 13-year-old. 12) Song from last album bought/downloaded - I've heard Topaz called "porn meets 70s cop show funk." Exactly. 13) Song w/o words - The Meters were so influential and so underappreciated. 14) A sexy song - John Legend is for real. Put this album on the next time you want to get laid. It works. 15) Old song that you heard for 1st time this year - I came across this while searching online for songs for a blues mix. Bobby used his voice as a blues instrument. Chickens went nuts over this guy. 16) Song reminds you of 1st relationship - Theme of a dance I went to w/ my first "love" in high school. Ah, nostalgia. 17) Live version better than studio version - Off the VH1 Storytellers dics on "Across a Wire." Incidentally, this disc is one of the best live albums I've heard. The sound is so intimately recorded. Very moving. 18) Best song from fav band's worst album - The Urge combine just about all of my favorite genres and do it well. Punk. Ska. Funk. Energy. Plus, they're from my hometown. 19) song under 1 minute. 20) Song from 1st or most recent artist you paid to see - I had so much fun at this show that I still had the blues the next morning when it was time to get up for work. 21) a song from the 1st AOTM trade - I've never traded with anyone via AOTM, but this track has appeared on 3 different mix CDs that I've had friends make for me. That's enough to indicate how great a song it is. Intro guitar riff is raw and perfect. 22) Life is a TV show, this is your theme song or Fav TV theme - My band in college closed every show with this song. 23) Song that makes you cry - U2 are the best band on the planet. I watched their "Go Home" DVD and cried when they closed the show with it.

Interesting mix. Kept me guessing throughout. A cover of "The Final Countdown"? Craziness. Alyssa Milano seems to be an AOTM godess, and that Public Enemy track seems to be a popular b-side pick. I'm glad to see The Urge and some contemporary musicians made the cut. I love that John Legend track, and I second your comments about that Counting Crows album.
