Comment:

Not a themed mix at all, despite what it might look like from the first 5 tracks - but those are really just a way of sliding into a set of folk-ish pensive
melodic singer-songwriter semi-neo-traditional songs

A pleasant departure/surprise, Jeff, from your usual gallimaufry of musical 'esoterica' from days gone by. I was going single out personal selections of distinction, but there ain't a clunker in bunch, which makes them all choice picks. 4 stars.

Let's see, which is more pensive, traditional, and melodic: this one or this one?

I like the look of this and I'm sure I would like the sound of it, too.

Boy, you really have captured the whole semi-neo-traditional thing. Nicely played.

I've never considered my self a huge fan of folk-ish pensive melodic singer-songwriter semi-neo-traditional songs, but this does look terminally groovy.

Sweet mix. Do you know if the "Our Town" on here is the same as the Iris DeMent song? I like this themeless theme.

Oh, this looks just terrific. Greg Brown and Dylan are the standouts, but what a stellar line-up all around!
