A Rabbit And A Hat And A Bat And A 64 Impala (What I Was Listening To When I Was 12-14)
Comment:
I admit it, before I started to expand beyond what's on the radio I was big on Top 40 and pop-rap. I owned a cassingle of "The Sign" by Ace Of Base (and still think it's got a pretty great melody going for it). When I was 13 or so I put my clothes on backwards and lipsynched to Kriss Kross as part of a campground contest. I loved OPP when I was too naive to know what it was actually about, a fact I now find pretty hillarious. There are a few things I didn't think of until after the fact (Salt N Pepa, TLC, and/or En Vogue could have easily fit in, as could "Mama Said Knock You Out" by LL Cool J), but I don't quite have the appetite to make a whole other 80 minute mix of this stuff just yet. If anyone else here is/has been willing to pull their early musical skeletons out of the closet here, I'd like to see the results.Feedback:
I'm pretty sure the Proclaimers would only walk about half that, but nice mix. I loved that Young MC Album.
This is perfect representation of early 90's pop/rap radio.
You and I are about the same age. *Shakes head* I loved a lot of this stuff. I bought the Arrested Development album Tennesee is on and it's still amazing (My first Hip Hop album- a great first choice in hindsight)And Buffalo Stance is Buffalo Girls without the annoying stuff (like Malcolm bloody McClaren *grits teeth*)- gotta love that
