Comment:

I'm a kindergarten teacher. The kids today with their bippin' and their boppin', they need to be exposed to the good old fashioned rock and/or roll. At least, the less offensive side of it. (To give you an idea of the standards I used, I left off "Good Vibrations" - the finest pop song ever constructed - because of the "excitation," "love elation" and "she sends me there" parts. Too bad. Luckily, foreign language songs are exempt.) I left off some good stuff, like Tom Waits' version of the Dwarfs Marching Song "Heigh-Ho," R.E.M.'s "Shiny Happy People," and David Byrne's "Don't Fence Me In." Volume Two?

A great idea indeed. This Cd should be part of the curriculum.

Wonderful approach to rockin' the kids. I guess that Shakira is here in Spanish since the English version of the same song (Wherever, Whenever) is a little racy.

I'm going to add it to "Cater or Indoctrinate" - check it out at Exhibits. Most of the ones there were done by parents; I think this is the first by a kindergarten teacher. Kudos to you.

I had a feeling you were a kinder teacher, with the letter project and all. This is superb. Funny, I just made a mix with "I'm a Little Dinosaur" to subject my 5th graders to... Jonathan Richman is so cool. I can't wait till Van Gogh's birthday, and "Rockin' Rockin' Leperchauns" on St. Patty's.

Best,
Mike
(PS, hey, check out my recent planets mix...)

Mixxer - yeah, "La chasse aux papillons" is also racy. Thanks for the exhibit mention!
