Comment:
120 minutes long. I plan on making around 2 or 3 more volumes. This compilation encomposes what I think is some of the best video game music out there from some of the best series out there. All music on this album is from either NES, SNES, or PSX games. The album opens and closes with Koji Kondo's haunting Zelda music, the most recognizable video game music ever next to Kondo's genius Super Mario Bros. arrangments. A good helping of Zelda II tracks are here too. Nobuo Uematsu probably the best video game composer ever to live, his best work from FFVI and FFVII is here, I think his best work ever was done on these 2 games. One of the most memorable moments in video game music is surely the opera in Final Fantasy VI, featured here by Aria Di Mezzo Carattere, also arranged differently and used as Celes' theme, an amazing song and moment in video game music. The album closes with Uematsu's classic Prelude track that has been used in every Final Fantasy game he has worked on. The last Uematsu track on here, One-Winged Angel, the theme of Sephiroth, one of the most popular video game villians ever created and a rousing piece of music. Yasunori Mitsuda the musical brain behind the Chrono Trigger series and Xenogears is represented here by his best tracks from Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Yasunori Mitsuda is easily as good as Uematsu, the music from Chrono Trigger alone is enough to make any man a legend. Earthbound (or Mother 2 in Japan) one of the most bizzare (and brilliant) rpg's of all time is represented here with 4 tracks. All tracks done by Keiichi Suzuki, Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka (who also did Metroid), Akio Ohmori, & Ritsuo Kamimura. Truly a monumental collaboration. The best Mega Man video game of all time is considered by many to be Mega Man 2, I agree. The most memorable track from that game is here, Wood Man's Stage. Done by Yuukichan's Papa, a pseudonym for a group of sound composers who worked on both Mega Man and Mega Man 2. Lastly the album is rounded out by 4 tracks from the Minibosses. The Minibosses are a band that covers only video game music. In my opinion they are probably the best ones out there doing this. Their smooth arrangmenst are wonderful and their guitar playing can be heartbreaking or ferocious, on a level with early Misfits. The 4 tracks here are their best I think, all suites playing for almost 5 minutes, Super Mario Bros. 2, Castlevania, and Contra. The last track on the first side is their absolutely epic 10 minute Mega Man Mega Mix. I can't wait to make Vol. 2.Feedback:

I am always willing to trade, but I only make mix tapes. No cds or anything (I don't have the technology). If you are happy with tapes a trade is possible. Glad you like it. The Girl Who Stole the Stars is so amazing, possibly my favorite Mitsuda track. All music herre is from official cds I have purchased, very expenisve but it's what I like so it's worth it. Wish I had some more. I once saw a Super mario RPG Offical Soundtrack CD go for $150 US, sigh...
Well done. The soundtrack of an era.
This is fucking fantastic.
One of the most original and intriging mixes I've seen this year. And, I'm not really into video games!
