Comment:

There's several albums I enjoyed this year that didn't manage to make this mix (apologies to Mike Doughty, Queens Of The Stone Age, and maybe even Wolf Parade and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, although I didn't like either of those albums as much as everyone else seemed to). Blame it on The Decemberists having to release an awesome 9 minute song about being swallowed by a whale I guess. I debated whether or not to include material from The Fiery Furnaces' EP, since almost all of it is previously released single material, but ultimately went against it (and I actually kind of liked Rehearsing My Choir even though I admit it's a failed experiment, but it's not exactly the kind of thing you can extract a song out of context from). And yes, I suppose this does mean I think one of the best songs of the year appeared on a Now That's What I Call Music compilation (Gorillaz), while another was written by Soupy Sales (The Konks).

I owe you something for the "King Kong" track. Great retro rocker. I used it on my Daughter of Frankenstein mix a few months back. I won't hold the NOW fact against you. I think "Feel Good Inc." is destined to be one of the few tracks people will remember about 2005.
