Happy New Year! A mix made for a friend in England who gave me the great pleasure of introducing an out-of-the loop music lover to some great new artists (including Arcade Fire and Killers). I've been wanting to use "Soon" to anchor a mix for several months after I re-heard it after an extended absence. The JJ72 song comes courtesy of Derhay's excellent "Lull B" mix. A lot of indecision about how to close it out, but The Killers won out because of an inside joke. The title came from a story I heard on Fresh Air last week about declassified CIA documents... Acoustic Kitty was a plan to use electronically implanted cats for spying....
