Comment:
This mix is designed as an experiment in mood. I have often found that, if I'm feeling under the weather, I simply can't jump straight into happy and uplifting music and expect to feel better. Quite often, in fact, I find more solace in the music that matches my mood. However, I started to think. what if you could lift yourself out of sadness/depression by slowly progressing upward? Through subtle changes in mood, melody and lyrical content, perhaps you could ease yourself out of a state of sadness into a state of contentment? Well, this is what I came up with.(Note that the Bowie cover is actually incredibly downbeat, a very interesting reinterpretation!)1 hr 2 min running time.Feedback:
Great concept and musical selections.
This works very nicely, and yeah that M. Ward track is a great cover.
Nice transitions!
Nice eclectic mix. Love it.
Very insightful reflections on mood and mood changes. And an intruiging mix to go along with it. I'd love to hear it.
Excellent concept and looks like a winner of a mix as well (good bet that it would work to pull oneself out of the doldrums).
Great mix--Dee-Lite vs. Junior Senior must be the best mood lifter ever!
Interesting observations on mood change. I'd be interested in trying this approach next time I'm in the doldrums.
