Comment:
I was listening to music of my favorite era, the 60's, when I got inspiration for a mix. I usually get a couple of songs in my head that I build a mix around, maybe a title of the mix also. The rest of the mix quickly falls into place. Once I added The Troggs track to the mix, everything changed. I decided The Elton John song would go with thetroggs but the only time I ever owned Madman Across The Water was on an 8-track. I ordered that cd from the public library but by the time I received it, I decided to make the mix about a madman/highs & lows of life. By the time I was done the title was changed twice and 80% of the original songs were gone. Obviously the madman in this mix is Bob Dylan, or maybe me, or maybe you....I decided to make this my brother Tom's (mahdishain)birthday mix. On February 17th, if my addled, feeble and much older brain remembers correctly he will be 48.
Feedback:
nice one Terry........the Dylan BOT I have as an acoustic boot and is among my favorites! (ps still on the way, on playback CDs pop all over the place and was a new box....hopefully your way snail mail later in the week....)
This looks pretty great, Terry.
Good stuff all around. By any chance is that song "Surprise, Surprise" a cover of the X song of 1987?
Wot they said, Terry; & there's probably a little bit of madness in all of us.
I'm with g.a.b. Great stuff.
great!
Wonderful!
Sweet Mother of all madmen!!! Damned fine all about, and all about those of them/us that's been in the care of the fine young men in the nice white coats.
Very nice!
A mighty fine collection. Great stuff.
Great! I'm sure your brother will love it, and I like your account of the mix-making precess too! Really like the 13th Floor Elevators -> White Stripes section.
Superb!
Yes, nice one. Lots of good picks.
Great way to kick off '06 Terry.
A lot of fine stuff Terry!
Very nice Terry. Especially like seeing the Moody Blues on here (they've helped me to drown out the perceptions of a mad world from time to time).

Great birthday tribute hemizen! (I love that Moodys track. A lot. Always frees the tethers...)
Sorry for the belated comment but I was busy doing "stuff".This is one of your best.My favorites were 1,5,6, and 19. What's wrong with being a little crazy anyway!!!Normal is boring...
I cannot believe I missed this. It's just great. The opener haunts me to this day in the nicest possible way. Simple Twist of Fate, Forever Lost and I Just Wasn't Made For These Times - all favourites. Hey, my name's Tom, perhaps you'll let me stand in for him this once -- just so I can have this mix you understand. One brother called Tom is probably enough for anyone. Top notch mix. Five stars -- Bam!
..don't know how I missed this... Sheesh! Looks great. The Elton and Kinks tracks are real faves of mine. Is that Taj Mahal covering the Monkees?
