Comment:

From a welfare office (we are the 2500 Unit)in cold and snowy Michigan, I sent around a sheet and had everyone write down the song they wanted on our mix tape and why. An eclectic group as you can tell from their choices.

Tracy chose Blue Man Group's "Exhibit 13: Their tribute to September 11th. It's beautiful--the song is in 2 parts. The first part sounds tragic like the event and then there is a puse and when they come back, the instruments are strong--just like our resolve.
Sara chose Brick House because it's her Grandma's favorite song (Cool Grandma, eh?)
Diana chose Beer Barrel Polka because it gives her "warm fuzzies"
Brian chose "At the Beginning": Song from my wedding; good song with real life meaning.
Beth chose "You'll Think of Me": This is a great "kiss my butt" song to the one that broke your heart. I've gotten alot of use out of this one...hopefully you won't have to..it's a great tune nonetheless.
Jolie chose "The Luckiest": A great love song..very sappy. It gives me warm fuzzies. Everyone has that one person we're meant to be with.
Brenda chose "Cheeseburger in Paradise"
Nancy wanted anything by the White Stripes.
I chose Sufjan Steven's new song because it's my favorite song of the moment. Simple lyrics ("I can seea alot of life in you"), and airy vocal, a plucked banjo solo--all combine for a wonderful listening experience.
Bernard chose Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music"

The hidden bonus cut is Three Dog Night's "Eli's Coming" dedicated from Jolie and Steve to each other.
