Comment:

Release Date: Fall 1990.

Remember those Personics 'make your own mix tape' kiosks? HOW on earth could it take less time to MAKE it than it takes to LISTEN to it?! It must be magic! I think I made this in the Sam Goody at the Walt Whitman Mall, as "driving music" for an upcoming road trip to Boston to look at colleges. I don't know why there's a "#2" in the title - I don't recall making "#1" and I'm sure this is the only Personics tape I ever did. I'd never heard the Shona Laing song before choosing it here, but had read that it was the "other really good song" along with Soviet Snow, from her album South. Can't recall where I first heard it - may have been the Screamer of the Week on WLIR... ahh good 'ol 'LIR. To this day, hearing Soviet Snow takes me to another place. It's the same with Cocteau Twins 'Heaven or Las Vegas', The Sundays 1st album, The The 'Dusk', or Kate Bush 'Hounds of Love'. Good stuff.

I don't know why there are sound effect tracks on side B - maybe I had the cute idea that I could open future mixed tapes with the "tuning" and end them with "applause". I also don't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, so there ya go...

I do remember this very vaguely. Also being blown away the first time I heard you could chose your own songs to put on a cd! Crazy concept. I love the cover- I thought it was some kind of Scientology tape at first glance.
