I admit I was just a little bit skeptical about this series because I'm not a big folk music fan. But these disks are wonderful. A great blend of rootsy music, old and new. And a lot of fun! What more can you ask?

Some of my favorite music, some of my favorite songs (a couple of which I hadn't heard in way too long). And the whole mix (both CDs!) has a great flow and feel to it. Mo's initial thought for a title sums it up rather nicely: Cosmic American Mix 1967-70. Yep. This is one I'll keep returning to.

The first disk in gerry's "roots of Dylan" series. A great blend of early folk, blues, and country, with a little comtemporary stuff thrown in for spice. Just marvelous. I'm sure Bob would agree as well. Be sure to check out the other two in the series, "ride the mail train, baby" and "Paupers, Peasants, Princes and Kings."

The immortal valis .......... forever lighting the dark recesses. Melodious, melancholic, mysterious, mind-expanding, this is an amazing mix, truly one of the best I've heard in a good while. Song selection, sequence, sonic atmosphere ........... all impeccable. How did he do it? He managed to pick all my favorite songs from a bunch of artists I've never heard before. (OK, OK, I had heard a couple of the bands, but you get the idea.) I love listening to this mix.
