Comment:
My musical biography continues as I take my first missteps out into the big wide world of music on my own.(From Under The Bedroom Door if you missed it http://www.artofthemix.org/FindAMix/getcontents.asp?strMixID=111662 Every single one of these songs are in heavy rotation is the jukebox of my mind. The come, sometimes bidden but mostly unbidden, into my head. Some I could do without. Most I still sing along to with the joy of a thirteen year old discovering life and music (as if the two could be separated) for the first time, on my own.Feedback:
More great songs bringing back more great memories!
I love the Beatles, Neil Diamond and Johnny Cash tracks unreservedly and must admit that I have a guilty soft spot for that Bread song...
4 & 9 are particular faves.
I'll always have a soft spot for Gilbert O and Don McLean. I haven't heard that Carpenters tune in decades.
Gosh, the first two singles I bought were Gilbert O & Don McLean (going for the obvious it was Alone Again, Naturally & American Pie - I was 5 and not yet into the cool and obscure) Just awsome.
Boo Hoo! I love the Carpenters track; the way Tony Peluso's guitar contrasts with Karen's voice - absolutely wonderful. Do you know they received death threats about that record? Take good care of my Baby - absolutely wonderful Brill Building classic. My fave is Save The Last Dance For Me by Pomus and Schuman. They really don't write them like they used to!
