Comment:

A collaberative effort between my friend and I for his nephew who is getting into the punk rock. So far he's into the bigger acts like The Ramones, Black Flag, and Dead Kennedys and we wanted to introduce the young fellow to some of the finer British exports in the punk/post-punk movement of the late 70's and early 80's. He saw this clip of the opening track and thought Siouxsie Sioux was the coolest rock chick ever, and wanted stuff similar to that.
ENJOY, and please do pass it along to the children.

every kid should get this on his or her 13th birthday - absolutely kick ass, seriously - the whole 16-20 stretch is great, love the buzzcocks, squeeze, GO4, raincoats, wire...

Interesting, I'm old as dirt and have been into Squeeze, the Clash and Elvis C for years, but I've only been turned on to several of these acts in the last year or so (Slits, Raincoats, Buzzcocks, Magazine) by people on this site. Excellent stuff.

That's quite the lesson in musical history you're providing here! Very neat.

this is one hot set. the kid's gonna dig it. Au Pairs and Undertones were new favorites after listening, but lots of great stuff here to take me strolling down memory lane.

All friggin' corkers. A great introduction. I'll be posting another kids' mix using the SwankExpress moniker very shortly...

Doin' it for the kids! Have to applaud your efforts. Hope the lad gets patches of all these bands on the back of his leather jacket.

A fabulous introductory course to cool "new" sounds and one damn good mix under any circumstances. Esp. dig the Slits, X-Ray Spex, Gang of Four, Wire, Buzzcocks, PiL, Costello, Clash, and Undertones tracks.
