You're Always There With His Line
Comment:
A poppy, upbeat mix for my friend Rosemary whose stuck in the hospital. Nothing life threatening, but she's going to be there for two weeks recuperating from a back operation. Her family lives in another continent and her boyfriend is busy with grad school, so I made this for her to help pass the time. The last track always puts a smile on my face... especially the video (totally out of sight), and I know she loves it (she told me about it).Enjoy the mix: 59min:50sec
Feedback:
This is tremendous. Especially digging the Pavement, Martha, Shangri-Las, Fiery Furnaces, Prefuse 73, Kinks & OTC choices.
Looks very sweet, the 11-12 bit ni hablar, but there look like some other nice surprises...
I love the feel of this.
a very thoughtful gesture, & i'm sure this'll do the trick - perfect opener, love the livys, pavement, vandellas & shangri-las tracks alot too.
Looks really great, I'm sure she'll love it.
This looks real fun. Great triple threat opener.
Great stuff all round - I'm sure she'll appreciate the gesture.Great openers and I love the girly bit in the middle . . . haven't heard the Shangri-Las in an age, which I will remedy very soon.Wishing Rosemary well ....
I've done the extended hospital stay bit .... musix is a lifesaver. Love the opener, the Essex Green, Pavement. Vandellas, Shangri-Las, Furnaces and Of Montreal tracks.
This poptastic mix gets my complete approval, I'm that will come as no surprise to you.. Just listened, and of the new 'uns on me I loved the Welcome, Free Loan, Prefuse '73... The Mohammed Rafi vid was a hoot also..
A very nice gesture, excellently executed. That Olivia Tremor Control track is one of the catchiest songs I've ever heard, and the rest of this mix doesn't look too shabby either!
St Etienne, Prefuse 73, Martha & The Vandellas and Animal Collective are right where it's at! Your finale just made my morning and for that, I thank you!
This ALL looks great, but that 14 - finish stretch has me salavating. Suh-weet!!!!
just downloaded, looks great. strange coincidence: was listening to some recent vinyl acquisitions this morning while getting ready for work, and one of them was a 3-track 7" of an old Bollywood film soundtrack, and track #3 was by Mohammed Rafi. that video is wonderfully nuts.
All great Salman. I love the Concretes-Vandellas move and the St Etienne. (Interestingly, I used that on one of my mixes back in 2004! Can you believe it?)
that Annie track is like liquid pop in a bottle! also dug the 14-16 patch, really cool song by Animal Collective. hope Rosemary's feeling better soon.
Very much fun all over!
Once again can't download this. Have rotated wildly in a club to one or two of these tracks. My choice picks would be nos.4,7,9,10,18 and 19.
I had a good poppy upbeat download and a great puffy offbeat listen to this, many thanks! I particularly loved the charged Jaan Pehechaan Ho send-off, but also some of the breathy girl sounds along the way -- and what's going on there in that Welcome song, are they pastiching Strawberry Fields Forever in there, or what? Very euphoric, anyway!
Fantastic! Not a weak track to be found. Can do no wrong with Dolly Mixture, OTC, Goldie, Of Montreal, Annie, FLI -- just to name a few. Have you heard "Rosemary" by Dislocation Dance? It would sound great amongst these poppy songs.
she will be pleased with this I suppose
What a kindly sort you is Salman! 'You're Always There With A Top Mix.'
That closer knocks me out every time.
