Comment:

I didn't quite make my deadline. I turned 50 last sunday, February 17th. Since I am too old for recieving presents (well maybe not since my son got me a guitar, now all i have to do is learn to play it), I thought I'd give you all a present. It's not the history of music during my lifetime. It's not a list of my fifty favorite songs or even my fifty favorite artists. It's one song from each year i've been alive that i enjoy and think that you will enjoy as well. thanks to everyone at Art of the Mix.

(Belated) happy birthday! Obviously, there are lots of great tracks here, but I was especially overjoyed to see my favorite recording of all-time filling your 1966 slot. :-)

Happy b'day! Some undeniably great tracks here... Bruce, Dylan, J. Geils, VU, and Ricky Nelson being some of my favorites. Love the concept too - I've been meaning to do one myself for quite some time but it just hasn't happened yet.

Other than the fact that songs for each year of my life likely would not fit on two CDs, it is a fine concept. Now, if someone was to do a similar mix with songs they actually listened to each year of their life, that might be painfully embarrassing (in my case). Does Sheb Wooley singing "Purple People Eater" make you grimace, or what?

Well I hope you had a great burpday . . . this is certainly a great fun mix . . . of course, if I did something similar with a track for every year of my life it wouldn't even fill one side of a CD !!

what a fantastic idea, happy birthday

while I feel pretty wet behind the ears in comparison (haven't even gotten to my year of birth) there are a lot of songs I know and like or love on this, great mix.

Happy Birthday! And you can console yourself by knowing you're not the oldest Tom on planet AotM ( Nomates is about 52, he'll love me for that ).
Anyway, great picks - Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, BB King, Ricky Nelson - those were the days.....

Great Bruce pick, I'm sure you did your brother proud with that one. I would have made this MOTW. Happy belated birthday!
