Comment:

I made this on Saturday to keep me entertained while I dug out of 52cm of snow on Sunday. My folks made me come over and shovel their driveway as their snowblower died at the wrong time and, well, my back is done now because of it! Overall I would say this mix has a winter-y feel to it, at least to me, with a lot of slow, pensive songs.
I haven't liked Pearl Jam in a very long time, but I recently watched Into the Wild and was very impressed with the music Eddie Vedder supplied to the film. His voice usually gnaws at my nerves but not so much with "Guaranteed". I've been listening to it quite a bit.
Enjoy: 75min:39sec (pic from my old room at my folks place; title from the SY track)

still cannot believe that snow !Thanks for the link . . . I liked loads of this esp 7, 13, 17 and 22. A word to the wise, however, don't try googling that Viva Voce track !

The Bessie Banks track seem to be a perennial favourite.

Lovely, though I'd be happier with a spring mix right now.

This looks great, Salman. I'm also more in a spring mood myself already (my friend and I already had a mini-picknick, eating chocolate cake while sitting on the ground in the park, last weekend!), but I like slow, pensive songs any time of the year, so no complaints there.

Good luck with the back - lots of slow stretching, I'd say'd do the trick (& maybe some Flex-all or Tiger Balm).
I'll have to check out the slow, pensive mood, here; thanks for the link.

Wow, that is a depressing amount of snowfall. Makes for a good "Wintry Mix" however. Love the Brigitte Fontaine, Lyn Collins and Brenda holloway tracks.

52cm? What's that in feet? Either way, this warms the soul. (especially, the 17 thru end...yowza!!!!!)

I love snow - probably because we seldom get any here in Seattle. loved the Bessie Banks track and the entire 8 thru 13 part was amazing, especially that unusual Brigitte Fontaine song. and I, too, groaned when I saw Mr. Vedder's name listed in the opening credits of INTO THE WILD, but the music was actually made a fairly nice accompaniment to the film.

Digging the Cat Power/Moby Grape track, the Syd and the Pink Mountaintops / Dreadful Yawns finish. We've had snow or ice on the ground since November 2nd.

So Good. That 4-8 run is something beautiful. The 12-14 is excellent too. Look forward to listening to fill in the gaps in my knowledge.. Lovely view also....

You hooked me with several of the first songs like 1,2,3 and 5 (not that the others were bad). Very nicely done.

global warming had made this winter nearly snowfree over here, and I bought a new pair of skis, but otherwise this looks great

Man, I always seem to catch your mixes waaay after they're posted. This looks right up my alley, as per usual with your stuff. The run from Lyn Collins through to the end looks absolutely stellar, dude.

Great stuff apu Salman. That SY album always makes me think of summer... specifically an impromptu camping trip. But I like thinking about it in the context of winter.
