Comment:
Fashion for those who are too busy mixing to notice. You know, those of us who are lucky to remember their pants.I am not even positive about the title of the Chet Atkins opener but it is too good to worry about such little details. The more daring will go for the leopard skin.
Don't forget accessories.
Green shirt is dear to my heart because 35 years ago Cindy had this incredible green shirt. The Mary Chapin Carpenter song is nearly as poignant as the Chet Atkins tune. Don't miss it.
Red Dress is part of a trio of killer songs, with Conversation with the Devil, and The Lovers in your Dreams, off his Crusaders of the Restless Knights album.
What else would you wear with a leopardskin pillbox hat?
Should I wear the New Coat or the Famous Blue Raincoat? Decisions, decisions.
Footware is always a dilemma. Shoes or boots? Concensus says Red Shoes but you can always go with the Flying Shoes if you are feeling contrarian.
Off to dig around in my closet. Enjoy!
Feedback:
Nice! Famous Blue Raincoat is one of my favorite songs.
Very cool concept!
Very cool concept!
fantastic looking I abandoned a similarly themed mix a little while ago although i may take up the challenge again given this.
I'm with bluespace on the Leonard Cohen track, as well as extending that sentiment to include the Townes, Tom, Elvis (both of them), Come, Bob, and FFs picks. I really like this--a neat idea and fine execution. :-)
good concept! see my "dress sexy at my funeral" if you are interested... i like that you managed zz top and tom waits on the same disc!
Great idea . . . wish that I had thought of it !!Loads to enjoy hear, but I suppose it would be a bit crap to say that a pearl necklace is always worth giving ?
Nice concept and great closing song for the theme.
nice concept
this is a super neat idea, i wish i'd thought of it myself actually, as ideas are popping into my head already. the 12-14 closing stretch is just great, & i love tracks 2, 5 & 10 ALOT as well. love this.
fabulous! love love love the leonard cohen track
Thanks, I guess I can always need a fashion primer. You have excellent taste in coats and shoes, in particular.
Um, I don't think you would want to leave the house in what ZZ Top is singing about, but you had better keep that Raincoat on, and maybe Prine's Blue Umbrella.
Love this, 2,10,13 and 14 are major favs. Donovan's "I Love My Shirt" would accompany this nicely.
This season I will be mostly wearing ermine topped off with a little lizard foetus. Nice mix mon ami.
Lots of fun. I could use this in the morning as inspiration.
Yeah, a fun concept full of great picks.
Hats off to you, this looks like a belter.
I never go out unless I've my boots of Spanish leather and leopard mini skirt on. Love the two Costello songs.
You definitely come out of the closet with this one! ;) A very dapper mix, my friend. You wear it well.
Righteously smokin' tunes from Bob Dylan and ZZ Top! I'm guessing that the Nanci Griffith tune is a Dylan cover...
Always a treat to see what you come up with. This is more akin to The Devil Wears Dada than a Proper Everyday Wardrobe and way more fun.
Only just noticed this. I've been contemplating a sartorial mix for a while, but you;ve set the bar so high I'll really have to work on it!
