Comment:

This mix is made for a road trip this weekend, and I was given some strict perameters on what can be included from my friends. Basically all of us are into garage rock, and so the first twelve or so tracks on this represent to some extent that loud messy sound. After that the mix heads different directions. There's a small classic rock section to appease one friend, a small indie pop section to appease another and a wild frantic Brazilian section to appease me and my other friend. Anyway, I think it worked decent enough. I added the last track really last minute as my friend was telling me how she loves the song in the new Dodge Journey commercial. It took me a minute before I realised that it was the Apples in Stereo!
Oh, and, I just saw Jay Reatard for the third time in my life, and goddamn does he know how to put on a show. Check him out if he comes to your neck of the woods. Here's a nice clip of him live. \m/

The appeasement mix-- what a smashing person you are. It's all here, all the appeasement one might ever need. I am suitably appeased by 18-25. Accept the metaphorical laurel and be of good heart.

The first thing I saw as the window popped upon was track 13 and that's good enough for me, let's hit the road...

See that, you can please all of the people all of the time if they each get their own section of the mix. Come to think of it, I have not heard CCR's "Green River" since the day we had a sit-in at the Dean's office.

wow, this seriously looks right up my street. i love so many songs here, i'm convulsing with excitement just reading the tracklisting. so many terrific songs it's hard to single any out, but that phenomenal 18-25 stretch really takes the cake. can't wait to listen to this in full, it'd be my MOTW for sure...

The sun is out, where? Not here in chilly old London. Small classic rock and indie sections appease me.

Wow, looks great! Enjoying the new BYOB, also like the Elevators and Pussy Galore tracks, and have been meaning to pay closer attention to Jay Reatard for some time... The CCR->Bowie run is nice too.

I try and I try and I try, but I just can't get into Jay Reatard. It must be a personal failing.

On the other hand, I can certainly get into this mix.

Looks awesome. I can't resist anything with a wild, frantic Brazilian section. I've not heard that version of Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis. Excellent.

You're leading us down the right path, Salman. I like the AIS song in the Journey commercial too! Fortunately they didn't use the band Journey.

Jay Reatard is popping up (oops almost mis-spelled that into a bad word) all over the site lately. The sun is coming tomorrow and the mix will be on the player. Looks great!

Wonderful! And perfect for today - it seems like the first day in MONTHS that it's felt decently warm over here. Absolutely love all of the T.Rex -> end stretch. Seems like you fulfilled your brief pretty well!

Gave it a listen, excellent. Those Thomas guys sure put the fun in function; wouldn't be surprised to see that one on some best of '08s.
