Comment:
Been away for a while.... I've spent the past several months running, driving the kids to sports and scouts, running, painting bedrooms, running, getting ready for Baby #4, running, and did I mention running????So at long last, I've finally been able to put together this mix (which has been off and on in several versions on my mp3 player for a while). This is also the mix which forced me to bite the bullet and get a decent CD burning software package.... As with my previous running mixes Nipple Rub and Lung Burn, I'm classifying this as a "Road Trip" mix, but only in the sense of shoes hitting the pavement (or treadmill). I also chose a title to again reference an agony of running and I.T.B.S. sounded a lot cooler than "Runner's Trots"....This was really fun to make (playing with my new Roxio software) and features one of my all-time favorite remixes (the opening New Order track) as well as completely gonzo covers by Moby and Astralasia. I was also reminded of how much I like the first Electronic album when I dug it out for "Tighten Up". It's been good to run to, as well: I've set PR's in both a 10 miler and half marathon listening to rough drafts, and it's been a training mainstay for much of the Spring. And it's very likely to be part of my marathon playlist next month (Hatfield McCoy Marathon in West Virginia and Kentucky). Sorry, no download available right now, but I'm willing to trade. Gotta run.... Mesh 101.
Feedback:
I completely agree with your New Order - World statement. One of my favourites from them, probably my fave post 1990.. This looks pretty great Patrick.
Looks terrific, Patrick. I don't listen while actually running, but it's be a great warm-up (I usually watch ESPN sports whilst stretching). Anyways, in 2 months, it'll be time to order a new pair of Saucony's (Grid Pro). I don't know if you've tried any of the sports gels, like AccelGel...but they're great for sustaining energy levels. Congrats on the PR's!
This would certainly get me moving. That NO mix really is a great way to open.
Haven't tried the AccelGels yet, Gene, but I'm a big fan of GU's and PowerBar Gels so I'll have to look for them.
All that running is making me feel guilty. Don't know a single song on here though, so I'm wondering how spurring it'd be.
Wow, I look away for 24 hours and new mixes from Mesh and Barry among others. I am looking forward to checking out the NO and Moby.
