Comment:
This is the first disc of "Sixty Licks", a Rolling Stones compilation I formulated. Notable omissions include "Out Of Time" - which was too long to make the cut (CD length is 80 minutes) - and "I'm Free", which I chose "Yesterday's Papers" over because 1) the former is also about ten seconds too long, and 2) because "Between the Buttons" is underrepresented by just two singles (notably, it's also Jagger's first original composition).EDIT: I forget to mention that - aside from 1967 being a logical year to end the first disc as it marks the end of the Stones' forays into psychedelia - there is some poetic value in "2000 Light Years From Home" being the closer, in lieu of how far the band had strayed from their stylistic roots.
Feedback:
I do like their psychedelic stuff. Very hard to go wrong here. Between the Buttons is in my top 5 of Stones albums.
