Comment:
I made this originally for my friend but I liked it a lot and kept a copy for myself, which I have been playing all week! A lot of the tracks here are from stuff I recently purchased. The first track is a traditional and legendary Irish folk song. The version by Matmos with Clodagh Simonds (of Mellow Candle fame) on vocals is absolutely wonderful and I'd take it over any other version out there. I got the title from the lovely Byrds cover by the Reigning Sound.Hope you enjoy this mix: 71min:12sec
Feedback:
Perfect mix of old & new, exemplified by your title.
looking very nice
I'm with the swede.
Strangely enough I was listening to that Gutter Twins track when I checked out your mix Salman, great tune. Looking forward to hearing this cos there's loads that grabs my attention.
14-18 is especially top-notch...nicely done!
this is fucking phenomenal, man, i'd actually really love a hard copy of this if you're up for a trade...2, 11, 14, 18 (one of my top 10 all-time favorite songs), 20-21 are top favorites, but i love everything here that i know - really, really great
Great mixture of new tracks with some old favorites like Donovan and Jansch. I'll be anxious to play this one tomorrow.
Looking forward to catching up on the stuff I don't know...the 14-18 stretch is particularly inspiring!!
The title alone is enough to sway me into downloading.
That Sloan song is dangerously catchy. One time it was in my head for three weeks straight.
Lots I don't know... love the Black Mountain and Sloan tacks.
that lady ain't goin' nowhere fast. hey, my work colleague just put some older No Age, after we just listened to your mix. digging them lately, and really liked the Van Shipley/Group Doueh pairing here. that version of "Sea of Love" was also real nice.
The track Challengers still sound great to me, after a million listens. This mix looks lovely. 13-18, pre-listen intruiges..
Awesome transitions! Really dig No Age through Jansch flow. Too cool.
One for you, one for your friend . . . now that's the way to keep the music flowing!
Great stuff Salman.
Dude, this looks killer, as always. Love the Matmos->Black Mountain opener and there's plenty more on here that looks good to ol' bufo.
Some fine tunes you've compiled for your friend -- no wonder you kept a copy for yourself. Lovely iron maiden on the cover.
Whoa! Almost missed this (sorry, I thought I'd commented), but I'm glad I caught it in time: great work, as usual.
Like this a lot... especially 14-21.
