Comment:
This is a compilation I put together on an 80 minute cd this weekend (it's classified as 'cassette' so that I could enter all the songs). I made this partly in search of inspiration for the band I'm playing in: 'Stretcher Case', a twangy guitar/sax-organ-bass-drums combo with a strong 60s influence (see www.stretchercase.com). It ends up being quite a fun mix I think, with some interesting versions of well known themes (e.g. Frances Faye's vocals with brass and bongos take on 'miserlou') thrown in with some originals. I also slipped in a few more modern tracks in a similar style. For more detailed explanations of some of these songs, visit musicaltaste.net
Feedback:
Perfect accompaniment for a weekend jaunt to the moon or the afternoon showing at the Tiki Room. Love it, baby!
Wow a mix this Swingadelic with no Martin Denny. It is still great! I have digging a lot of sweaty lounge stuff lately!!
