Never put a mix together with more than two songs per artist. But recently I turned my sister-in-law on to Marshall Crenshaw; she replied by asking for "more like this". What emerged was a tape with lots of pure pop, mostly indie, significant number done by the individual artist in his own studio (Grahame in his backyard, Johnson in his spare room). If you don't know these artists, this is a serviceable primer. I was particularly pleased with "Something's Gonna Happen" and "In Our Lives" as side openers, and "Big White Lies" as the tape closer.
