Comment:

When my wife and I were planning our wedding, we told our friends that we did not want shower presents. They responded by putting together a "music shower", where people brought tunes that were significant in their relationships and recorded all on a number of cassettes. Come eleven years later, our 20-year-old nephew and his 18-year old girlfriend announced their engagement. Like our friends had done for us,I put together this mix and asked other family members to do the same.

(Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" was our processional, and k.d. lang's "Big Big Love" our recessional.)

Since then, the happy couple has put the wedding on hold for a year. But the mix tape will keep...
