Comment:
Currently the two largest state workers unions (more than 22,000 employees) are on strike here in Minnesota. During the first three days of the strike our genius governor never went to the Capitol or any other government building where strikers walked picket lines. Despite belonging to two entertainment unions (a point he emphasized during his 1998 campaign and at various times in office), Ventura noted in a statement that the timing of the strike was unfortunate. He cited the Sept. 11 attacks and a slumping economy, and cast aspersions on the union members' patriotism. So here's a mix of work songs, just for Jesse. And sorry 'bout the Huey Lewis.
Feedback:
No need to be sorry for Huey. He gets a bad rap. But hehe, it's funny to me. Minnesota was happier than pigs in shit to get that wrestler elected. Why is everyone there on strike?
How about "Take This Job and Shove It?"
Cool mix. I would have also put on Billy Bragg's "Power in a union".
Nice job on this mix. Joe Ely's "I Keep Gettin' Paid the Same" is another great song that would fit nicely into this mix.
Um, wouldn't the Clash's Career opportunities have been an ideal choice?
What about Superchunks 'Slack Motherfucker'
fuck patriotism.
good mix. any song by the coup could fit in there, along with "take this job & shove it"
