Comment:
yep, made this for my dad in hoping that it would strike up some sort of positive communication. he has pretty good taste in music and at heart i know he dies for a god pop song. so, i started out wanting to make a pop tape, but decided to expand beyond to other schtuff he'd like. side one keeps a fast to steady pace the whole way through (cherry valence right after old 97's four leaf clover just fucking kills) but goes from rock-out to upbeat pop to more electro-tinged pop.it keeps you dancing no matter what. side 2 is less intense, more stable, and over all just kinda laid back and sweet.Feedback:
i realiz that both sides have jeff tweedy vox as their number five, i didnt really plan that.. and i know i prolly shoulda used a jay farrar sung unctup song for the sake of variety, but i wanted new madrid, dammit.
Hey, "New Madrid" is probably *my* favorite U Tupelo song (plus I'm not a Jay fan by any stretch of the imagination), so I back you up. :-)
Nice mix. Did your dad like it?
wow...i was thinking of making my mom a tape for xmas. maybe i should do the same for my dad, but he's such a moron sometimes...
i would love to make a mix tape for my dad, but he's a huge music fan and ex-dj, so he yould end up schooling the hell out of me.
That's so sweet. I made a mix for my mother once - she loved it. :) Hopefully your dad liked this... then again, why wouldn't he?
well, he has not heard it yet. i will send it soon, but, i know he will like it. :)
ooo, nice mix, the cherry valance are great, if you get the chance to see them live-go forth.
