Comment:

why janet? why stp? and why the wonderful mothers amongst it all? because i was like 13, thats why. it was at the point where i was weaning off of my family's taste in music and right before i found my own. i had some remnants of their influences-any hip hop was my sis champagne, new order my momma, and zappa dad. i had a general idea of what sounds i liked but had no real outlet to find them, except fucking Power 92.3 FM in phoenix and mtv. thank god for 120 minutes, thats how i found out about smashing pumpkins and bjork, who are still my top 2. oh, and strangely enough, 'ranking full stop' came from these lame LDS district youth dances that my mormon friends took me to. all the "alternative" high school boys would high step to it. anyhow, a lot of people would make a mix like this look better than it really should be, but i am all about embracing what confused tastes i had. its nice to be able to smile in the face of "ooh, you liked the cranberries? shit, i thought you were cool" type comments from kids at my radio station. never be embarrassed about what you like/d, ever.

I still love "Black" and played "Geek U.S.A." on a jukebox in a bar a couple months ago. Cool mix; if The Cranberries were considered indie rock, a lot more KCOU kids would like 'em.

hello, are you my twin? This is what I was listening to in 7th grade. I had "still remains" on constant repeat...that song still kicks ass. But where are the gin blossoms??
