Comment:
This edition of the Chris-Oscar-Stuart MD palaver (see Vol 1 for details) was heavily influenced by the fast-going-out-of-vogue-but-I-like-it "craze" of "bastard pop" bootlegging. I won't share the name of the websites where a lot of the MP3s I found came from, but I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll find them! Now, take a deep breath and I'll talk you through the various curiosities featured...Track one is a snippet of DJ Peel instructing the listener to turn up the volume... track two is 12 minutes long, 101 different intros spliced together by clever remixer Osymyso. Track three "stars" Dan Rather - ECC recorded hours and hours of news then spliced together all the bad news to make one phenomenal sampled song. Track 4 is The Strokes' Hard To Explain vs Ms Aguilera. Track 5 is an extract from the BBC comedy series The Office. Track 6 is Ghost Town vs Say My Name. Track 8 is Kylie's New Order remix (!). Track 11 is Mogwai vs a Cassius Clay speech vs Kid Loco. Track 15 is from the end credits of the black comedy movie Happiness, and will only really make sense if you've seen the film. Track 18 is a two-step remix of the classic sitcom theme tune. And finally, track 19 is the song that upset U2. A lot. Phew! Enjoy...Feedback:
