Comment:

I'm leaving town for college in a few days, and last night was my last time to spend a whole night with my friends at home. I knew there would be a HUGE thunderstorm (tornado warnings), so I decided to make an ambient mixCD, with the track consisting mainly of "interlude" style songs, or more ambient songs.

3 versions of the same microphones song, "here with summer", are included. the first 2, "window 9" and "window 10", are very short clips of the "here with summer". They sort of fade in and out before you even really begin to notice them. Hopefully, by the time you get to the end of the cd, you're hearing a song you're somehow familiar with, even though you've never heard it. All the Nick Drake tracks are pulled from his unreleased Tanworth in Arden II tapes. They're all around a minute in length. In fact, quite a few of these songs are very short. The only song on here with vocals is the Sparklehorse song, with very soft vocals, a beautiful song. I put it in the middle to sort of divide the tape into two sections. Then I placed the 3 songs that have voice samples all in a row towards the end, the Aphex Twin, Sonic Youth, and NIN tracks.

Anyways, the night went PERFECTLY. Right as the
final Microphones song played, it started raining.
The lightning was beautiful, and since few of the
songs had any words, it was perfect music for listening
to the thunder and thinking.

Nice one Emperor..., always great when a mix comes together and then fits the scene perfectly. Kudos! (..and a bow)
