Comment:

I had taken a few stabs at compiling a mix titled "SmokyNoirCool," a term I had coined to describe the kind of unattainable woman that comes across the radar every so often, and while pursuing her almost always ends bearing bitter, if any, fruit. Still, she's out there, and someone will crack the cheap padlock on her heart. Moreover, this is more about a mood. This is night music. Sure, you can spin this during the waking hours, but pop it in under cover of night, and drive where the muse takes you, and while it plays, you're not quite yourself. All of a sudden, you're driving a cab, or you're on your way to some clandestine meeting. Perhaps, all you seek is solace in a cup o'joe, served up by a faded waitress who still has a couple of sparks left, or at the bottom of a bottle. Hell, maybe all you wanted was some cheap Chinese take-out, and maybe that's all you'll get...or something else that you never bargained for...

So, I've given all the mixes you sent a good listen (several times) and this one remains my favorite. It has great flow, and songs that stick with me all day. I find myself *trying* to emulate Peggy for hours after listening (a real treat, as you can imagine)...and the Morphine track has the blood that I crave. Thanks for sending!
