Comment:

Back in the 1990s, Warren Littlefield, then president of NBC had enough good sense to let the critically-acclaimed "little enginge that could" in the Friday 10pm slot coexist amongst the other much more ratings-friendly "Must-See" shows on the Peacock network. This is my favorite show of all time. In this day and age where it is now common for nearly every show to have it's own soundtrack, it would seem only fitting that "Homicde: Life On The Street" would have one. Being a show that wasn't exactly a household name, no such soundtrack ever materialized.

I set out to create one as a gift for a friend of mine on his birthday. Granted, this isn't the version that I had envisioned. As I didn't have a lot of these songs, I consulted Kazaa, and didn't end up finding every thing I wanted to find. Still, fans of the show will understand.

Exxxcellent. What else were you looking for? "One More Heartache?" "Native Son?"

Great show. Great mix.

One song that I noticed at the time it originally aired was one of the songs from the Pumpkins Adore disc. Forget which track, I'll have to go have a listen.

Love Homocide. This is a good representation of the music on the show with one very notable omission: "Evidence" by Faith No More.

This probably would have been a 2-Cd set had I found what I wanted, If you'd used all the music featured on the show, it would've been between 5-10 CDs.
I did have it narrowed down to a wish list of about 20, with alternates. I was really bummed out that the one version of Los Lobos' "Georgia Slop" that I did find would not burn onto a CD.

Also my favorite drama of all-time. So amazing. I loved the use of music. I was blown away when they used Robert Plant's "Watching You." I distinctly remember another time being floored by one song they used, but I never found out what it was! :( I'll have to wait for a DVD set to find out...

Weird...I just finished watching Season 3 on DVD when I stumbled upon this. I know I'm late to the party, but it's always nice to find someone who appreciates "Homicide" and its music.
