Comment:

This was a concept I've been toying with since the day I got my burner. I was so sick of what everybody else felt was "the best of the 80s." Sure, I'm fond of a lot of it. However, if I hear "Goody Two Shoes" or "Come On Eileen," I'll scream, only because I've heard them too many times. Instead, these are some of the songs and/or bands/artists that meant something to me back in the day, and still continue to mean something to me. You may see some familiar faces here, maybe some you've never heard of. Perhaps, some of these lesser-knowns are your unsung heroes, too. This is an updated version of a two volume set I burned for my friend Cori, for her birthday. Cori loves her some 80s something fierce. Vol. 2 (which will be posted soon), is a more clubby compilation. This one is mostly about the guitars. Tracks 17-22 were not on the original version, as a. I didn't plan as well as I should have b. I was working on limited time and c. Realizing I had already stacked the deck with plenty of "Greenberg-friendly" bands, I felt that it would have made this way too personally skewed.

Great mix! Some of these songs meant a lot to me, too.
How about "A New England" for starters?
"I was twenty one years when I wrote this song
I'm twenty two now, but I won't be for long"
Classic!
Hearing the Hoodoo Gurus' "Bittersweet" on a mix is always a good thing. Some of these songs bring me back to my old days of listening to "The Quake," SF's original (and greatest... R.I.P.) alternative station. And that is always a good thing, too.

This is great. Definitely a truer reflection of the 80's I experienced.

Great great mix. Great collection of eighties bands, most of which are in my own collection. Very in keeping with a mix I just posted. Cheers! Brent
