The full title is "Examinations of the American Road and Its Aid in Escape, Healing, Losing Oneself, and Returning Again." I never really went to college and never got to do a thesis, so this was my big chance to apply an impossibly cumbersome title to some dismissable accumulation of other people's work. Enhancing the pretentiousness is that the tape is divided into four "chapters:" Escaping covers Side 1 up through Springsteen; Lost goes from Chapman through the end of Side 1; Healing is Side 2 up through Neil's "Roll Another Number"; Returning is the last two songs.
