Comment:

Who is Sarah Holcomb? She was an actress. She was gorgeous. If she's remembered for anything, it's probably for her roles in the films "National Lampoon's Animal House" and "Caddyshack." The latter was her final performance; in 1980 she reportedly gave up a future in film for alcohol and drug addiction, and vanished into obscurity. ("Will she be remembered?" - from R.E.M.'s 'Camera') Nobody really knows if she's even alive anymore. I can relate pretty much every song on this tape to her, and the way she squandered her considerable talent. Some of it's touching, some of it's sad, angry & frustrated. To borrow from Spain, she haunts my dreams. I've never met her or anything like that at all. TDK D-120

That's sweet. I made a mix for my favorite actress, as well. Except she's alive.

Thanks Neri. All I know about Sarah Holcomb is she gave up her film career for drug and alcohol addiction in 1980, and nobody really knows what happened to her after that - she disappeared so completely - but I'd like to think she's still alive. I'd like to imagine she went into rehab around the mid '80s, and now she lives quietly somewhere, and sometimes thinks to herself, "Yeah, Clorette DePasto! That was me!" I'll be obsessed with her forever. Incidentally, who's the actress you made a mix for?

hmmm...I went to high school with sarah holcomb for part of a year. (American School in Mexico City, 1975 guess that would have been) Wow this is weird. I have to agree; I am going to keep thinking she's alive. How touching of you to create this mix for her. She didn't have to say much to make you feel something for her, but obviously you know that already.

Recently, while preparing for a 25th anniversary party of the movie Animal House, I had occasion to do some research on some of the more obscure actresses and actors. Of course, Sarah Holcomb (Clorette DePasto) was one of them.

The story is not a pretty one, and need not be told in any detail here. Suffice it to say, Sarah is alive and, out of respect for her privacy, I'll just leave it at that.

I went to High School in Mexico City and remember very specifically Sarah's first day. She was on the same school bus as i was and she gave me a big kiss and sat down next to me. She was pretty amazing. Headed places in high school.
Years later in 2000 I heard she lived in Boston. Thats all i know
