Comment:
I found out earlier today that Slint is reuniting for February's ATP Festival in the UK. Anyway, I thought it would be cool to make a mix of songs which have members of Slint in 'em: The For Carnation is Brian McMahon's band after Slint, Squirrel Bail is Brian McMahon's and Britt Walford's band before Slint, David Pajo plays lead guitar on the Bonnie 'Prince' Billy track, David Pajo is Papa M, Britt Walford is uncredited in playing drums on "Pod", David Pajo played guitar on "Millions Now Living Will Never Die", and Brian McMahon wrote the lyrics on "Why I'm So Unhappy". I was thinking I probably should add a song by Zwan since Pajo was a part of that but I didn't want to ruin this mix. And for all you lucky Brits, see Slint if you get a chance. As Steve Albini said, "...kick yourself if you never got to see them live. In ten years, you'll lie like the cocksucker you are and say you did anyway."Feedback:
Fantastic. That Squirrel Bait song is worth the price of admission alone... that is, if you hadn't also included the wonderful Tortoise track, Papa M track, Bonnie "Prince" Billy track, and "Good Morning Captain."
thanks.
I thought that said SPIDER BAIT and I was mega confused because spiderbait are a very mediocre Australian band.
Excellent.
Totally awesome.
Oh, man, this is a sweet mix. I'm not a fan of Dntel (although my preferences swing in that direction), but I love that Dntel track! I also love Slint. I always knew there was something special about that Dntel track, but I couldn't put my finger on it. It makes more sense now. Thanks. BTW, what do you think of the latest Tortoise album?
