So the other night I'm out with this guy I've been seeing for about a month & a half. And he gets all serious and asks me, "What do you want?"I immediately come up with a really snarky response: "I want to not be asked what I want after dating someone for six friggin' weeks. Sheesh!"
But I figure that's not really a propos, so I generated a kinder, totally honest, response: "I'm sitting in a smoke-free bar, with a cute, intelligent guy who just got us tickets to see Neko Case & the Sadies at the Roxy. I've got a pint of Guinness in front of me, and there's a kick-ass Sudanese Conga band tearing up the joint. I'd say 'what I want' is pretty well covered."
But then I think, surely, this the type of question best answered in a mix. And so, this. Though the White Stripes selection may give him pause.

Good one - the Beatles' Money , and She's So Heavy would have worked as well. But Money skirts having the words in the title. Go the the Roxy, eh? An LA girl? I've seen plenty of great shows at the Roxy back when I lived there.

I love a good theme disc. Nicely played. And as I read through the tracklisting the Carmen Miranda made me laugh just o suddenly see a break in the first two words of each song.
