Comment:

This one's for Ed. I haven't made him many mixes, because, well, he lives with me and therefore has access to my entire music collection. But he recently asked me to burn him a copy of Shocking Blue's "Venus" to listen to in the car, and also Doris Day singing about being glad to be oneself, oh, and yeah, the theme from the original Italian Job. I took it as a challenge to make a good mix with those on it, and this was the result.

Thanks to Joey de Vivre for the self-affirming Day/Brown cut, and to Nest of Vipers for both the Other Doris Day song, and the Linda Lavin. I'm hoping if we all quote NoV in our mixes, she'll come back and grace us with her audio-culinary masterpieces.

Title from Nilsson, via the Asylum Street Spankers.

I think you said this to me once before, Jen, that we generally operate on different ends of the mixing spectrum? Well, that's probably true, but I always enjoy looking at (and listening to) your mixes. This looks super-nice to me. I'll definitely give it a listen.

I find being given a few tracks to build a mix around is always a fun challenge. You've done a fine job with this one, particularly liking the closing 4.

Jenny, I totally thought this was for Mixxer Ed! I thought I'd somehow missed out on some awesome AOTM dirt. Oh well, I'll let my AOTM soap opera imagination keep running and wish you and your Ed the best. Mix looks fantastic, btw.

blowin' bubbles outta the window,
chewin' bubblegum and blowin' BIG bubbles
(gettin' gettin' ridda ridda all my troubles)
watchin' the tadpoles
glubba glubba glubba
in the puddles. Okay, that's the Free Design talking 'bout bubbles, but it's me tellin' ya hoe extraordinary this mix looks. Mr. Ed should be one happy guy!

this mix is 4-dimensional! My favorite is that Linda Lavin song, but Doris Day has the #1 voice on Earth, so it's great to hear two of hers here. also liked the Architecture In Helsinki, Asylum Street Spankers, Sparks, Eartha Kitt picks. I like that you use music from the early days on your mixes.
