Comment:
On a downtrodden road inside my CD/record collection I've picked out some songs from well before my birth. This one wavers towards blues and country but there's plenty of psychedelia to paint pictures in your head. Title from the song that Jim Carrey popularized for my generation, "Somebody to Love," from his ill-fated film, The Cable Guy.Feedback:
This looks really cool to me. The Cable Guy is ill-fated? Really? It's literally the only Jim Carrey film that I ever liked prior to Eternal Sunshine...
There's a lot to like here ... Gil Scott-Heron, Nico, Patsy Cline, Elmore James, etc, etc.
Nice mix.Particularly like 96 Tears, I'll Keep It With Mine & Green Onions.
Ditto the others, a nice mix with a good assortment of artists. I like the inclusion of the Electric Prunes--that track has always been a favorite of mine.
Very interesting mix of artists, i.e. Merle Haggard/1910 Fruitgum Co.!
Excellent.
Nice. I like the wide variety of artists.
Ooh - tarting out with ? and ending with Booker T! And keeping it real in between. Nice work my friend
Very cool! I really, really like the second half especially.
Very nice. Also, a very memorable image from the Cable Guy.
Quite superb. I love all Jim Carrey's movies. I think he appeals to the wackier side of me, which is about 90% according to my beloved wife! Always always always GREAT to see the Prunes on a mix!
looks like a fun time to me
Love Gil Scott-Heron, especially ... nice mix ...
nice looking mix but, the fruitgum co always eluded me.......not that is bad mind you!
Ah, love it. This mix feels like home.
Like this a lot!
Nice mix of styles & classic & lesser known tunes. Although. like mckbrd, I have a hard time fitting 1910 in there in my mind's ear (as another mixer opined on one of my mixes)?
Great from start to finish.
Wow, this is fantastic. I like a lot. I keep seeing 1910 on here, but I've never heard 'em...
this kills. opens and closes with two of the greatest anthems of all time.
This looks really, really great. Solid all the way through. The Cable Guy is an all-time classic at our house. "We need an ambulance over by the scaffolding"
quite a mix - country, blues, & electric what-all . . . everything from tears to onions!
Yeah - I agree with Sean on tracks 1 and 21, and I am impressed you actually have the 1910 Fruitgum on CD. Or did you guiltily visit Blubster?
This sounds so much fun. Excellent.
"everything from tears to onions!", Yes-that quite captures it.
looks very interesting. good job !
Love the 1901 and Gil Scott picks. Nice stuff.
