Comment:
I'm currently in rehearsal for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. This is a sampler of possible curtain/intermission music that I put together for our director. Mostly songs about death & insanity, but a few that touch on other themes in the play. Those of you in the Boston area can find info on the play at http://theatrezone.org/productions/productions.htm. It should be a good production. I have a small part, but I get to wear a really great dress and talk in iambic pentameter.
Thanks to Joey de Vivre for the Ellen McIlwaine & Iris Dement tunes (I think I'll put "Everyone Wants to go to Heaven" on every mix I make) and to DJ Lunch Boy for a mess of stuff inspired by his "We're All Songs About Death" mix.
Feedback:
Cool mix Jenny. It sounds like you are on your way to fortune and fame!
Looks fantastic Jenny. Love the Brian Dewan through Residents and Soft Boys throught the Kinks bits especially. I think we should all talk in iambic pentameter and, uhm, break a leg.
My comments in iambic pentameter: I like this mix and really want to trade... for it. Well, not exactly iambic pentameter, but you get the point.
Iambic pentameter would be a great mix name....great mix by the way!
This looks dead on, & that's a great play - It doesn't exactly fit your theme, but if you think you could also use "Brush Up Your Shakespeare" I'll mp3 it to you . . .
Excellent!
Good luck on the iambic pentameter
Good luck on the iambic pentameter
Superb looking mix. That Smog track is one of my favourites.
Generally speaking, things have gone about as far as they can possibly go, when things have gotten about as bad as they can reasonably get. Good go here Jenergy!
Nice. Clever. Well-done. Etc. Etc. Etc.
great and fun
what mr burns said...
great stuff, Jenny! Good luck with the play
Glad to have provided inspirational assistance (and feeling a little self-kicking I didn't think of "Dead Finks Don't Talk" when I was making my own mix). Congrats on the part, small though it may be.
interesting and again: Good Luck w/ play!!!!!!!!
Very nice indeed! So many tracks here I like, right from the opener, through to the Bjork, Residents, Talking Heads, Soft Boys and Dement. Lots of luck with the play, and I'm sure this will be absolutely perfect!
Looks real good.
Kinks. Rutles. Residents. Tom Waits. So much tolike here.
Love it.
Ditto the others--excellent. And as theater folk say, zzzzzzzzzzz'break a leg" ;-)
Where all those z's came from I don't know--I'm breaking in a new computer.
Love this to death Jenny, hoping you steal the show.
Gentle Jenergy, thee mix is sublime. Looks like it was a "dead" week on AOTM! . Make sure the play runs through July so we can see you when we visit Boston.
I can't believe I missed this. Kudos for some sweet mixin' skills.
looks very nice -- congrats. :)
