Comment:

So the other day I was watching The Big Lebowski (again) and thinking (again) about all the weird and great music on its soundtrack that I probably would never have heard had I not seen the movie. So I decided to assemble a collection of songs I love from assorted soundtracks. Some of these are songs I had never heard before; some are songs I probably wouldn't have listened again to had they not popped up on a soundtrack. Plus of course some stuff written for the movies in question, but I've tried to keep those to a minimum. I double-dipped a couple times with some soundtracks, but, damn, it's hard not to. I've got lots of leftovers, so there will be sequels. Note: The picture on the cover is from Cindy Sherman's "Film Stills " series, in which she dressed herself up and posed in exaggeratedly cinematic poses. My vision of the perfect life involves a lot of women like them.

Like the idea behind this.Picked up an Yma Sumac LP called Mambo a few months back;that was my girlfriend's doing as I had virtually no knowledge of her at the time. And Alone Again Or could be my all time favourite song.

Dude! This could be the soundtrack to my life -- I wish!

Of course most of these were great songs even BEFORE they were
in the movies - -
