The cowbell has had its day in the sun, celebrated by everyone from SNL to LCD Soundsystem, as well as in AOTM mixes # 61081 and 43630. Hey, I love the cowbell too, but who will stand up for the lowly handclap? Well, aside from Pharrell, Busta Rhymes, and about a zillion other rap and dancehall producers, not to mention AOTM mixes #92509, 91460, 85615, 82946 and assorted others, me. Well, OK, so my clapping mix isn't the first one here. But it may be the most perverse. I mean, I've got two versions of Hollaback Girl here, alongside 2 takes on "drop it like it's hot." Followed by, er, 5 songs based on the clap-riffic Diwali Riddim. And I can't imagine anyone will really want to sit through the two minutes of the LCD Soundsystem "clap-appella." But if you're looking for a nice funky clappy mix with a sort of cheerleadery/marching band feel, and you know how to work the fast-forward button, this may be the mix for you. Also: "Mickey" in Spanish!
