I want to stress that this is not my creation. My friend Nirmala, herself a Mistress of the Mix Tape, made it for me when I asked her to make me something with some good old American pop to ease my depression. A few hundred listens later I think its just about my favorite tape. Interspersed with quotes from "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," the funniest being John C. Reilly espousing the virtues of the Burger Barn over McDondald's and Wendy's. "They invented the salad bar, which is now mimicked by every other fast-food chain in America... they came up with that!" Segues beautifully into "September Gurls".
