Comment:

Went into the vaults for this one. It's a mix of bouncy punk and peace punk, bass-heavy industrial, 80s pop/new wave, and all-out funk jams...all with artists who are tied in one way or another to the punk community. Admittedly, there are a few bands on here that I hate (Poison Girls, Chumbawamba, Tracy and the Plastics), but this was made for Mike and I had to make a few compromises. You know how it goes. NOTES: 1) The Swans track is a Joy Division cover, of course. 2) The Killing Joke track was later covered by Metallica. 3) !!! is also known as Chik Chik Chik. 4) Pailhead was a collaborative project between Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat/Fugazi/etc. and Al Jorgenson of Ministry. 5) The 2 Many DJs selection throws the Beastie Boys' vocal track from "Intergalactic" over beats from Herbie Hancock, INXS, and AC/DC. 6) This is the English, Crass Records Anthrax, not the American, "Caught in a Mosh" Anthrax. 7) Big Black was Steve Albini's (Shellac; producer of Nirvana) 80's industrial/punk project. 8) Arsenal has the "other guy" from Big Black in it. 9) The Faint involves somebody from the Locust. 10) Skatemaster Tate and the Concrete Crew did the soundtracks for several of the early Powell and Peralta (Bones Brigade) skate videos.
