All I Really Want to Do Is Rock and Roll
Comment:
31. Shonen Knife - Parallel WomanA little (hopefully tasty) dish I whipped up for AotM's resident master of regrettable foods. A heady melange of Native American vocals, Latin rhythms, Pacific Rim melodies, and well-aged pop, with a healthy wallop of good ol' Southern twang. And, of course, plenty of chicken!
And a bratwurst, just for luck!
Title from the estimable Mr. Altman.
Feedback:
Take it from a man who knows, your mixes are wonderful Jen. I'd love to hear this in its entirety. Please make it happen!
A masterpiece from a master for a master. I really love that Lesley Gore track.
Fantastically silly mix, Jen. There's some must hear stuff on here. I just don't think one can go wrong when the word chicken is in the song.
Brave Combo and the Sacro-Iliac. Say no more. I am seconding Sammy.
Just finished listening to this and WOWIE!!! so much fun. The opener is odd and cool like crazy (or crazy like cool)... Barry Beatmaster - oh how I laughed. And just when I thought it was safe - the compelling Austin Lounge Lizards track began followed by Ms. Parton's lovely take on the Beatles (you gotta hear that one, Claude!). I had calmed down a bit when 5th Garden made it's assault and I went into full hyperactivity (some people would ask how I know the difference) - I didn't think it could get any better, and then Chitty Chitty Bang Bang... Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! But none of this could prepare me for the musical question: Why Me, God?
Miss Jenny, I thank you for this (and my chickens do too).

This is just non-stop fun! I am grinning ear-to-ear reading these tracks. 1-11 is as good a back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back I have ever seen grace a mix.
Yes, this surely looks like a worthy mix for Nest of Viper. Great job, Jenny!
I love this mix. If you wanna trade, lemme know.
Nice.
Wow! It's all good, but I really love that Dolly through Bobby Fuller stretch.
i've got a grin on my face just reading this listing .. . .
Durwood DouchT . . . hmmm. and you just can't go wrong with Lesley Gore, 10cc and Amos Millburn and and and. . . Excellent.
This looks too good - and, I'm judging by the recipient's comments, it is :) Like that 11-14 section a lot. Wonderful.
This looks like a something from the kitchen of NOV, which of course is a good thing. No wonder she liked it as much as she did. The only thing missing is a photo of some vintage dish with questionable contents.
Cripes, Katie! Two tons o' fun here.
very cool Jenny!!
This looks like way too much fun, I'ld love to get a copy.
This does indeed look like a lot o' fun...
Quirky fun. That Shatner song is so fucking incredible :)
A wacky, wacky mix, but please hold the bratwurst! I don't care where you hold, just keep it away from me. p.s I just love track 27.
Can well imagine why Ms. Deville loves this. is track 24 the deceased British Wrestler?
I'm quite sure she'll love it!
...and you do it, really well! (Great 10cc pick!)
An eclectic & whimsical melange that's just perfect for Cruella! "Please Don't Talk To the Lifeguard" sounds intriguing.
Honoured NoV should be.
Whooee! What a mare's nest of bratwurst & chicken boo you've cooked up here!
Truly in the Cruellan groove, which is about the highest praise I can mustard - er, muster.
I made a new year's resolve to try to get my mix-trading habit under control, but this would make me fall off the wagon in a minute, if you're willing. . .
