A Happy Medium
Comment:
It seems to me that AOTM just gets better and better. As one door opens, another door opens. What's a girl to do? I have no idea, I'm not a girl. I am, however driven, driven like a thing possessed, like a souped-up, hot-rodded, rocket-propelled turbo-monkey. Yes, I will strive and drive and drive and strive to keep my head above the parapet. Enough with the shady mixed metaphors, you say. Ok. Here's a mix for ya. Oh, it's not ground breaking or earth shattering. It's probably not even very good. But it's here, it's downloadable, it's free and available for trades (pretty please) and did I mention it's FREE - now that's a great price. It may help you waste a valuable 78 minutes of your life, and time wasting is such a tonic for the soul. Why am I raving like a raving thing you might ask - well, it's like this -- Jonpoi is back and he's raised the stakes...Allow me to lower them...Click.
Feedback:
these stakes are well-done. some of these tracks are even medium-rare. are you doing vocals on #9? I'm no medium, but this mix makes me quite happy.
I was looking for a mix click when I put this file in WinAmp like the Andalusian mixers or shall I play it again click and how it sounded inside an empty room and I thought well as this mix as another and then I played it again click and then she asked me would I click to play click A Happy Medium and I first put the mix in click and drew the music drew itself to me click all bending round click and the sound was going like mad and click I said click I will Click.
Many alarms & many surprises.
Oh just as I'm about to hit the hay Monsieur Nomates posts a clickable feast, well I aint biting, no sir. I will however make some pancakes for breakfast and give this a spin, it looks delectable. Oh and by the way if you squint your eyes the cat logo on the back cover looks like errrm a gentlemans semi-erect member. Maybe thats just me. Still it was nice of Thom Yorke to drop by.
g.a.b l@bs: "Are they wragging me, centurwion?" Thom Yorke: No one Can Play A Guitar . Barrydali: It's true, Barry. I am a semi-erect member of all the best clubs. Spare a pancake for an ex-altar boy, Faddah.
"One God, one aim, one destiny" and one Nomates! The Beeb has never sounded so good. The crowd want more Tom, so, give the crowd what it wants, eh?
To paraphrase Pootie Tang, "[This Mix is] gonna sine your pitty on the runny kine. Sipi-tai!"
Beasties 'Something's Got to Give' next to 'Payback' by the Godfather is a very interesting pair. Love that Mos Def track (the Zero 7 remix is also terrific), the J5 track, Herbie Hancock... hell, I like the whole damn thing! Nicely done!
Downloading and looking forward to both the listen and the subsequent obligation chocolate. I love how AOTM has become so user friendly.
Blasted .wma files! What about us Mac folk? Where's the justice?!
Never mind. Listening via Windows media player. Very nice indeed.
god damn my (wo)man(?), this is a fine mix.
A great mix. Very eclectic. The Blur>Herbie hancock section works beautifully.
Great soundbytes aswell.
Purrrrfect.

Mac users can download Windows Media Player v9 here.
This is fantastic, half-past Herbie right now and brightening up my day!
Looks pretty good to moi...
sister of the year :)
i'd have something great to say about yours, but i haven't heard much of it and don't have 78 minutes to spare until later! ack!

I agree with Sammy....this works great. Fine listen and segues.
this looks to be right up my alley ... like the picks from NERD, Blur, Kate Bush, Nas & Dr. Dre.
Amen.
Finally got round to listening to this, alas without pancakes on this occasion. I hereby accuse you of being too clever for your own good sir! Your fusing of the most improbable tracks had me shaking my head in stunned disbelief. If you carry on like this you will be forced to drop the No from your moniker as you will have more mates than you can shake a stick at. Hey, you could then be the artist formerly known as Nomates and write slave on your face. Food for thought amigo.
a door-to-door wallop...
Eclectic, thoughtful, funny, and lovely as always.
Some great stuff here.
Great choices. Like that NERD/Blur faceoff- inspired!
Yeah, this was a nice drive mix. I listened as I was on my way to my attorney and it was good as an edge to the mood I needed to be in. And I like seeing the cover again afterwards to pull out the feeling even more. Very nice.
Tasty Mis, I'm not a big Dre fan, but love the jazz-hiphop-pop links.
So you do submit mixes - you don't just comment on others. Nice one, mate, er nomate.
i love that kate bush song!!
Great mix. I like the eclecticism of it (nice cover too)!
Eeeeexcellent. I love the Hancock track. I never would have thought to put that on a mix.
Ah...Fingertips. I can't get enough of that. I think it must be the layered drums!
Another thing I can't get enough of, is this, and many other mixes you have forged deep in the bowls of your secret factory for the particularly talented.
Great tracks from J5, N.E.R.D, Dr Dre, Mos Def, Beastie Boys, Nomates, James Brown....Nas...Ian Brown...Hell, the entire thing is great! So are the blends...oh! the blends!
Fade out.
