Comment:
I recently received a brace of charming emails from fellow AOTM'ers, both of which urged me to kill myself - one of them advised the use of certain disparagingly described parts of my dear old Mum. This may seem harsh, however, I had used the dreaded sarcasm in my comments upon their mixes - that will teach me.With these happy thoughts frolicking around the old gulliver, my view turned toward.toward..well, nothing really; but as I had been accused of spreading "bile", I attempted to take stock of this alleged mean streak that I was, hitherto (I assure you), unaware of. Well, I've had a thorough investigation and I am now able to announce that I'm none the wiser. I do know for certain that the aforementioned individuals are not to be trifled with - I'll take my medicine and wish them well - but not too well.Oh, and there's a mix attached to these comments - I say mix, I mean a selection of tracks - I haven't "mixed" them at all - may jonpoi forgive me. Make of it what you will. If you feel the need to sneer, jeer or simply express your irritation at its lack of any merit whatsoever; then go right ahead. You may utilise sarcasm and throw in some "bile", should the mood take you. It's ok with me. I quite like the mix - you don't have to. That's the great thing about AOTM and "mixing" in general. All comments are worthwhile, in my opinion, except for the ones that aren't. My Mum sends her regards.
Feedback:
No point crying over spilt mixes errr, or something. Firstly this mix contains one of my favourite songs of all time (track 14 for those who care} and its in good company, only James Blunt could produce any bile from me but I shall let that pass. Secondly its good to see you posting again. I might also add that I take great pleasure in reading your comments on mine and other mixers mixes. You approach the comments aspect of AotM with a refreshing honesty and often make me laugh out loud. Ive seen you use the dreaded sarcasm and in every case that springs to mind it was done with good humour and more importantly needed to be said. Lastly I must voice my displeasure at the dearth of uninspired brit boy rock on this mix! Whats all that about?...
Wonderfully produced. And, don't let the man getcha down. Just say "Boo Hoo".
I've had a few of those e-mails sent to me, as well. This looks like a cool exercise.
Ah, Tom, 'tis you (tissue?). Looks like you had a bawl putting this one together...and it may well qualify for Mix of the Weep.
Honi soit qui mal y pense.
James Blunt! In case anybody ever questions your sense of humor, there they have it.
Good lookin' mix, and glad to have you back in action, O man of many mates.

Fuck 'em all, I say! Prince into Ja Rule into Johnny Cash... awesome.
As far as I'm concerned, sarcasm is one of the four food groups. Lot's of great tunes here.
Good to have you back.
Good to have you back.
Color me lachrymose and dolorous. I take umbrage, under my umbrella, at anyone not enjoying/appreciating your always-entertaining comment. (Hell, I know of no one who puts as much into a comment as you do! I, like Barrydali, have found myself doubled over with tears of glee at some of them.) "Honi soit..." indeed! While some may deserve the rude e-mails they receive you're not among them, but that's my opinion; others have their own, they just act like it's definitive. F__k 'em! Go Nomates!!!
hey! this is the thinkingperson's emo mix. nice. p.s. i love you.
Nomates is back! Please keep the comments coming, as I'm in the majority here at AOTM. I have a sense of humour, and your words of wisdom and the occasional sarcastic remark make me laugh out loud! So did the inclusion of Track 10. ( Only....serious).
Sarcasm: intellect on the offensive
I'm crying myself to sleep at discovering that I can't fit this whole sad download onto one sorry CD - however, I'm making the best of it - many thanks for skipping "tears on My Pillow" & "96 Tears" to make room for some lesser-known weepers.
It fair warms me old cockles to read such warm and friendly comments. I feel a tear forming - how very apposite.I realise that the James Blunt ploy was uncovered immediately and exposed for the deus ex machina at the core of the theme. You're a lot of clever so and so's. Still, there are, in my humble wotsit, some excellent songs on here; and a few exquisite juxtapositions. Furthermore, I'm quite pleased with my "Brit-Boy" artsy cover "design".I have a couple of other cunning ideas in the proverbial, and we shall see what we shall see. There won't be anything as obvious as the "Blunt" trauma though; so be forewarned. You are all, in the main, thoroughly nice chaps, and I thank you for it.Oh, and Joey, just remove track 10 - sigh - and it will fit rather nicely. There.. everybody's happy - well nearly everybody, and that's all we can hope for.
Tears of joy, tears of sorrow... Fuck 'em, says I (or, as I have raised my children to say) ... Make the offer to, then refuse!
Well done. 5 stars coming your way!
Your comments always make for a great read, do not relent! An excellent mix, and if I had tear ducts then I'm sure I'd be shedding some tears right now.
There's a tear in my beer, and I'm downloading this mix, here! Cheer(s)!
that is a really nice cover - and it's great to see you making a stellar comeback at AotM. love those Rolling Stones, Julie London, Pretenders and Prince picks. and if one of those emails was from me, please just try to forget it. you know how I get after my third martini.
Your dreaded sarcasm, not unlike this mix, rocks!!!
Been a while, eh? I'm trying out this mix when I might otherwise not, due to those wonderfully sardonic comments of yours. I can almost see your sneer as I read them. And hey, I may surprise myself by liking those tracks which would normally repel me. James Blunt in a sarcastic context? It might just work. Thanks for your comments, by the way.
I too have felt the lash of your keyboard, but I must say that it looks like a fine mix. But, I must say that you were wrong. The mix that you smashed me on went over with flying colours. Drew says its one of his fave tapes. So there.
I also must say that I used I must say too many times in that last comment. Typing to fast and sending before I proof-read kills me every time.
Bless you & your sarcasm. Mind you to Be Blunt, I'd rather sautT me arse in boiling extra virgin olive oil than hear the dreaded singing captain again!!!
Magnificent.......bastard.
Bitch now, cry later - that's my motto!
No sneering here...I am glad I have not gotten a bite of your bile. Nice mix! Godley & Creme--fab!
Ah, this is great! Have you heard the Spanish cover of Roy Orbison's Crying? Some woman did it, it was eerily beautiful.

And somehow, my comment posted three times!
I don't understand who decided a proper "mix" is one with the tracks blended together like you're at a club or something. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned but I consider the true mix as vinyl tracks painstakingly recorded to a cassette tape. Please consider what I've said. And now stop pretending to boo-hoo about how smart & funny you are.
No tears here. This is great!
