Comment:

For my brother: punk, funk, dance, synths. Not quite everything, but it does have PiL doing the Swan Lake Of Doom and cats wearing duck-shaped hats, so not too far off. The excerpt from the Mylo track is an odd little 20-second spoken part at the very beginning, which goes along the lines of:

"All perversions of the third eye through distorted and exaggerated images, perverted movements of the body and breakdancing and other forms of dancing, and we especially call for the judgment in this hour and the destroying of rock music directed specifically against children through the videos that were portrayed, and working specifically through these individuals for whom we call forth the judgment of the sacred fire in this hour..."

A fairly extensive range of musicians are then listed. Looks as though we need to stop these mixing shenanigans right now. Title from the Underworld track and thanks to John for the AWB and to Thomas for the Buddy Rich!

Jolly splendid, what. This royally good collection of tunes, this pot-pourri of styles and sounds, this mishy mashy, bashy flashy drum roll of surprise, this sceptred mix. I realise this is musically global, but it feels wackily british. I will begin a new course of medication immediately. I blame your brother.

Hallelujah! Wonderful mix. And, yes g.a.b., I'm dancing. In fact, I go completely spastic at the Human League -> De La Soul part. It ain't pretty, but, they you are.

Yes it is a little of everything. I like that Minor Threat song, and unlike most punkers they are from Washington DC. Happy lis'nin' for the brother.

Looks delightful, Siobhan. Your brother would be a fool not to like this. Great collage cover too -- especially the scene from Arrested Development, the duck swallowing the cat's head and the turtle-hippo love connection.

Fun ! I never really got on with the Human League at the time, but they played here in Dubai a couple of months ago and they were fantastic. I guess this is a long way of saying that I would probably even like the Human League pick now . . .
