Comment:
For my brother: punk, funk, dance, synths. Not quite everything, but it does have PiL doing the Swan Lake Of Doom and cats wearing duck-shaped hats, so not too far off. The excerpt from the Mylo track is an odd little 20-second spoken part at the very beginning, which goes along the lines of:"All perversions of the third eye through distorted and exaggerated images, perverted movements of the body and breakdancing and other forms of dancing, and we especially call for the judgment in this hour and the destroying of rock music directed specifically against children through the videos that were portrayed, and working specifically through these individuals for whom we call forth the judgment of the sacred fire in this hour..."
A fairly extensive range of musicians are then listed. Looks as though we need to stop these mixing shenanigans right now. Title from the Underworld track and thanks to John for the AWB and to Thomas for the Buddy Rich!
Feedback:
I love everything about this mix. Great stuff.
Nice smiths pick btw.
Nice smiths pick btw.
Anudder nice one Siobhan, I'd dance t'this (not sure about Burns,though)...and the title reminds me of a grrl I knew in college (that's all she wanted).
"American girls want everything in the world you can possibly imagine..."
"American girls want everything in the world you can possibly imagine..."
Jolly splendid, what. This royally good collection of tunes, this pot-pourri of styles and sounds, this mishy mashy, bashy flashy drum roll of surprise, this sceptred mix. I realise this is musically global, but it feels wackily british. I will begin a new course of medication immediately. I blame your brother.
Hallelujah! Wonderful mix. And, yes g.a.b., I'm dancing. In fact, I go completely spastic at the Human League -> De La Soul part. It ain't pretty, but, they you are.
A real nice collection of everything.
Very nice, like the Scissor Sisters, De La Soul and Buddy Rich picks esp.
Yup, cool indeed. Nice M83 and Underworld picks.
Absolutely love The Jugglers (from AWB best album IMHO)and The Smiths, Siobhans favourite band!
Well this is ALMOST everything... and cows and chickens like vegetarians
Yes it is a little of everything. I like that Minor Threat song, and unlike most punkers they are from Washington DC. Happy lis'nin' for the brother.
This looks mighty, mighty fine.
Suh-weet!!!
Outrageous excellence, your excellency.
A Siobhan mix if ever I saw one. I like 'almost'the lot mais on ne peut pas tout avoir!
nice especially the closing track.
A wonderful lookin mix!
Looks delightful, Siobhan. Your brother would be a fool not to like this. Great collage cover too -- especially the scene from Arrested Development, the duck swallowing the cat's head and the turtle-hippo love connection.
A nice collection of songs and a creative cover. You'll have to let us know how your brother liked this.
Fantastic ending.
Yeah, very extensive list of bands. It looks really good. Digging 4, 6 and 11 especially.
Wow, this is tremendously eclectic and fun! Top-notch, m'dear. If you ever want to trade again...
I wanna dance with somebody to this.
quite a great ride
Fun ! I never really got on with the Human League at the time, but they played here in Dubai a couple of months ago and they were fantastic. I guess this is a long way of saying that I would probably even like the Human League pick now . . .
For me? damn. what a sister. I actually logged onto here for the first time in a while, I've got a new mix for you that i'm uploading at the moment. man, i'm embaressed by some of those old mixes. hope you like my new one.
man, i totally forgot to say, that's the best cover art ever. also love the oh so cute picture of us in the middle of it. and the french trip, my faux-vegetarian, cats being dressed up by japanese people.... absolutely amazing. and the blue men.
